Pre Care

Pre-Care Instructions:

To achieve optimal results for your eyebrow procedure, proper preparation is essential. Your eyebrow area should be healthy and irritation-free. Here’s how to prepare your skin for the procedure:

On the Day of Your Appointment

  • Skip Caffeine: Avoid any caffeinated beverages like coffee, soda, energy drinks, and tea. While caffeine isn't a blood thinner, it can raise your blood pressure and potentially increase bleeding.
  • Have a Nutritious Breakfast: Fuel your body with a healthy breakfast and ensure you’re well-hydrated to prepare your skin.
  • Wash Your Hair: Since you won’t be able to wet your brows for the next 3 days, washing your hair beforehand will help keep you clean longer.
  • Makeup Choices: You’re welcome to arrive with or without makeup. If you usually fill in your brows, doing so can help us see your natural shape better. We’ll take photos, so come however you feel most at ease.
  • Comfortable Attire: The studio may be a bit cool, so consider bringing a light blanket or sweater for added comfort.
  • Hydration Reminder: Drink plenty of water—adding a pinch of sea salt can help with hydration.
  • Tip for Relaxation: Appointments can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, with microblading lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours, and Nano techniques up to 3 to 4 hours. Bring your AirPods to listen to a podcast or your favorite music while you relax.
  • Stay Relaxed: It’s normal to feel a bit anxious. Remember, we’re collaborating to create your ideal brows—take a deep breath and get excited!

24 Hours Before Your Appointment

  • Avoid Alcohol and Heavy Exercise: Stay away from alcohol and intense workouts, as they can raise your body temperature and lead to increased sweating, which may impact pigment retention.

3 Days Prior

  • Steer Clear of Blood Thinners: Avoid medications and supplements like aspirin, niacin, ibuprofen, and fish oil. Excessive bleeding can hinder the ink’s implantation and affect healing.

2 Weeks Prior

  • Limit Sun Exposure: Avoid tanning and direct sunlight for two weeks leading up to your appointment. After the treatment, stay away from tanning beds altogether to prevent permanent damage and discoloration. Arriving with a sunburn or tan may require you to reschedule, resulting in a forfeited deposit.
  • Antibiotic Use: Ensure you haven’t taken any antibiotics for at least two weeks prior to the procedure. Always consult your healthcare provider before stopping any medication.
  • Avoid Exfoliating Products: Do not use exfoliating acids in the brow area.

3-4 Weeks Prior

    • No Blood Thinners: Cease the use of any blood-thinning medications or supplements.
    • Brow Treatments: Avoid brow lamination at least 3 weeks before your appointment.
    • Skip Intensive Skin Treatments: Refrain from chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, or similar treatments, as these can accelerate skin cell turnover and disrupt healing.
    • Botox and Fillers: Schedule any Botox or filler treatments for at least 2 weeks before or after your appointment.
    • Natural Brow Growth: Avoid waxing or threading. More natural hair will yield better results. Any stray hairs outside the final shape can be managed during your appointment.
    • Discontinue Growth Serums: Stop using any brow growth serums 4 weeks prior, as these can boost blood flow and lead to increased bleeding.
    • Avoid Certain Skincare Products: Discontinue Retin-A, Retinol, AHAs, and other chemical exfoliants at least 4 weeks before your procedure. After healing, avoid these products around your brows, as they can alter the color and cause fading.
    • Travel Plans: If you have a trip planned, aim to schedule it at least 14 days after your appointment to reduce the risk of infection.
